From Elderly Instruments:

1929 Fern model with triple top-bound body, headstock and tortoise plastic pickguard, pearl fern and "The Gibson" inlays in headstock, gold hardware, tuners with pearl buttons, "The Gibson" tailpiece cover, adjustable ebony bridge (stamped "PAT'D JAN. 18 21") with repro bridge top, sunburst finish flamed maple neck and body, carved spruce top, great sound, very rare, on consignment from the family of the original owner, this mandolin is in superb condition and sounds great despite not having been played in many years, really an exceptional instrument, the only flaws (such as they are) are the identification number that has been put on the back of the headstock (Y226362 CALIF.) and there is some wear on the gold-plated tailpiece, with green-lined OHSC
