Fon may be 11002. This blond top A-2Z is in beautiful original condition and has a figured maple back and sides finished in Sheraton brown. It has original tuners, tailpiece, and ebony bridge. The unique rosette with ivoroid center and black inline around the top make this standout as the classic and rare model made only during the brief Gibson Loar era. Clear well-balanced tone and a very straight adjustable neck make for real ease of playing.

From Dexter Johnson.
Carmel Music Co. owner, Dexter Johnson, has been building, repairing, and restoring acoustic guitars and mandolins since 1969. You can hear one of his custom made guitars played by Jerry Garcia on the Acoustic Disc release Garcia/Grisman (track 9 - "Arabia"). He also worked extensively with his friend, mandolin virtuoso David Grisman, on the Tone Poems 1, 2 and 3 discs setting up the vintage instruments for the recording sessions and co-writing the album notes with David.
