VGC except needs work (replace 1st 3 frets, replace missing endpin, reinstall ebony nut, repair side mount endpin surround, reglue open side seams, repair open side cracks near endblock, repair deteriorated tortoise plastic string retainer with ebony or rosewood, clean, setup, etc. - sold AS-IS), rare, hard to find and historically significant bass mandolin, A-style body shape, 24-1/2 body width, ivoroid bound carved spruce top with black finish, dark stained maple back and sides (some water damage to finish along lower edge), 2-piece mahogany neck with ebony fingerboard, pearl dot inlays, 17 frets, black peghead face with pearl "The Gibson" inlay, nickel plated geared tuners, includes original maple bridge with movable ebony saddles, 1-3/4" nut width, ~42" scale, with fitted canvas bag (some open seams, etc.) (SN:74558)
