Mandolin, Style A
Factory order number unknown
Style A-Snakehead mandolin, #73635, in very good condition with hard shell original case. This is a fine sounding brown-faced A from right in the middle of Lloyd Loar’s tenure with the company. It has it all: the truss rod, the preferred neck shape, the oval soundhole, the extraordinary timbre unique to the mandolins with the inverted peghead. Okay, so the pickguard clip is missing. We also note that, way back, the instrument’s back was taken off, many decades ago, for repairs.
