Description

Beautiful Fern. The serial number is interesting on this one, clearly original yet it seems in some ways it should be 76541 instead of 72541.. which would place it next to other march 31 1924 ferns with nearly identical features.

The serial number is in unusual handwriting, which leads Darryl Wolfe to suspect that the factory applied the serial number through the F-hole. The reasoning goes like this- one way of explaining the unusal handwriting along with the unanticipated serial number is that the label could have been glued on without the serial written on it.. hence it was written through the F-hole and one digit was transcribed incorrectly.
