Description
This mandolin has a great look and feel and sound to it and probably a great story to tell. There's old Orville staring out from his Lyre Mandolin on the label that bears the serial number #6042. But the peghead has the teens style "The Gibson" inlaid in pearl. Upon close inpection it is revealed that the teens neck has been grafted to the old neck and it is a beautiful job of it. The top has aged beautifully and has the original inlaid pickguard and a teens tailpiece. Nicely figured back. The tuning pegs are undoubtedly original to the teens neck. The leather case may well be original to the mandolin. It's been recently set up and frets dressed
DB - Unusually, the bridge goes over the inlaid pickguard
