Description
Excellent condition showing some checking and playing wear. The F2 is the same mandolin as the top of the line scroll F4, but with less fancy cosmetics. It has the overall red finish with a slight sunburst, two piece back, pearl logo, bound top and bound ebony fingerboard with treble extension. Finish and hardware appear original. Nice big woody sound from this mandolin with good bass! The finish and hardware are original. Neck is straight, neck angle is good and the frets are fine. The big scroll on the peghead was apparently broken off and reglued as there is a very old repair there that is not visible on either the face or the back of the peghead. Please click on the pics of the peghead and tuners to see really high resolution pics. There are some pick scrapes on the top near the sound hole and some finish checking on the sides and back of the mandolin. F2s are getting harder to find in decent playable condition, and prices are continuing to rise every year. Did I mention that it has really strong tone and volume and plays like butter?
