1913 Gibson F2 Mandolin #14604

1913 manufacture date (traditional estimates)
1911 shipment date, according to Spann's Guide to Gibson
Mandolin, Style F2
Serial 14604
Factory order number unknown

VG-EC except repaired top cracks near scroll, between pickguard and bottom point, black top finish, tortoise plastic raised pickguard, Handel inlaid ivoroid tuner buttons, ivoroid-bound ebony fretboard with pearl dot inlays, ebony bridge with added adjustable aluminum top, "The Gibson" engraved tailpiece cover, pearl "The Gibson" inlaid in headstock, very low frets (could benefit from new frets, but okay as it is), label missing - serial number appears under label area, with OHSC

DB- I'd guess that with this serial and the aluminum saddle, this F2 probably was back at Gibson for a visit in 1921 or so.
